A big complaint I have read on the reviews here is that there is never anyone online to play, which is very true and that does make it less fun. But I have played against the computer and although its not the same as playing against real people, its not that bad either. The computer is actually kind of difficult to beat and I rather enjoy the challenge. My only complaint really would be that while you are playing, the stats (how much money you have, who bet, folded etc... is really small and hard to read. All in all I like the game.

Not bad

This is an updated review. This game was not playable on my laptop, even though it met system requirements. I just purchased a 2010 Dell and it works fine. It has a lot of introductory video which is flashy, but doesn't add to the gaming experience. Overall, it's fine, but make sure your PC in state of the art.

While this is a great game to play this cd rom & others mentioned on the net has a serious glitch in programming that makes the players flicker & the skin layer disappear the icons have changed to squares & the exit page is one big mess There are patches but apparently none officially from activision. The two I found seems to have made little difference.
I dont know how wide spread the problem is so although the game itself is great this problem is very annoying & would recommend the game be tested immediately before or at purchase to see if there are any glitches present.....Brian

Entertaining and challenging

I'm only reviewing the PSP version, since I haven't played the other ones.
So, having said that, I highly recommend it. Its pretty challenging. The AI is smart and hard to beat. I know there's some "geniuses" here that beat every tournament in just a few hours (right). If I was that smart, I wouldn't be playing video games, I'd be getting rich in Vegas. Anyway.
Its challenging. The graphics aren't as good as the "tournament of champions" version, but they're better than the first WSOP. The heads up tournament is a nice addition to the game. You go heads up against the best players, which are many. The unluckable videos are pretty cool. Hellmuth's "music" video (as guest star) sucks though...hahah.

Not for avid poker players...

This game was honestly not much of an improvement over the original WSOP game or the Tournament of Champions game. The AI is still just as terrible and the commentary is the exact same thing as the previous games, such as when Lon says "Here comes the flop" is followed by Norman Chad's "That's what my wife said on our honeymoon" Even the players say a lot of the same phrases as the previous two games.

I think the best part about the game is that is has a lot of pros that you will recognize such as Chris Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, Devilfish, Phil Gordon, etc. etc. But to me, this was pretty much the only good part of the game.

I was surprised to see people still playing online, though it is rather empty.

If you are just learning how to play, this MAY be a good game for you. However, I would recommend signing up for a free account on one of the many poker sites that are out there and learning the game with play chips (same goes for players who are proficient players.. I'd stick to online)

I gave the game 3 stars only because of all of the pros the game has.. Other wise I would've given it a 1.5 or 2.
