Editorial Reviews
On Yeah Ghost Zero 7 is embracing fresh ways of thinking. The childhood friends (Sam and Henry met while still North London schoolboys) rode speedily to stardom on the back of a handful of unforgettable remixes and their platinum-selling debut, Simple Things. Their first three albums captured Sam and Henry in their zone; Yeah Ghost is them breaking free. 'This time, from an early stage, we were clocking ourselves as we went though the steps of writing,' Sam says, 'trying to be a bit more aware of our habits and to approach the process of making a record in a different ways.'

I Am Not Afraid of Change, And Zero 7 Continues to be Brilliant!

It is so refreshing to be a fan of a band who never grows stagnant, for stagnancy and it's mind numbing repetition are surely the ingredients for an early demise. Thanks to Zero 7, I am apparently going to be around for a long, long time. Yes, this album is not a lot like Zero 7's earlier work. But I think that it's brilliantly awesome. It is far more complex than Zero 7 of the past, though, which is most likely the reason why Yeah Ghost has been critically panned for the most part. I don't think that most people gave it enough time. It took me a few listens before I really got it, but when I did, all that I could really say was "Thank You Zero 7!"

Decent Release with Some Gems to be Found.

While I am not a huge fan of every song on the album, "Ghost Symbol" really blows me away and "Swing", "Pop Art Blue" and "The Road" are decent songs too that are worth checking out. I feel that the unfavorable songs on this album have left such a bad taste with listeners that the good that can be found in this album is perhaps more easy to forget.

oh yeah.

short and sweet: i hated "the garden" and i love this album. love the added new guest vocalists, love that this, to me, is more similar to their first two albums, but with a little extra twist. this is what they should have transitioned to from "when it falls".

this album has a great variety of mood, but still all downtempo.

Great Music

I'm new to Zero 7, with this being my first album I've listened to. I really like it though!

Unique sounds and exploration are things to be proud and happy about, not to criticize (like many of the other people doing these reviews). Sure if they explored some things and it sounded terrible, then fine it's no good, but all of their songs on this album have their own unique qualities of good music. I especially like the exotic/Middle Eastern vibe that a lot of the songs on their album have (like "Ghost Symbol"). If you like amazing artists like Royksopp and Nitin Sawhney, you'll love this album.

Conclusion: 5 Thumbs up for unique sound and a good vibe! Nothing to complain about!
