From the supplier: Faulknerian tragedy follows a recurring pattern that departs from the traditional conception of tragedy. In Faulkner's novels, the situation is static, action is ineffectual, and no resolution occurs. Characters are unable to make a difference, and problems are unresolved. There is a pervasive sense of corruption and lack of any positive social values. The concept of aesthetic locus is used in the analysis.
