Customer Rating:

Daniel Silva has become my favorite author in the thriller genera, and MOSCOW RULES is another winner.
Silva tosses Gabriel Allon into the boiling caldron of current world events--this time Putin's Russia. Allon must counter a sinister al-Qaeda plot to kill thousands of Westerners. but first, al-Qaeda must obtain a quantity of SA-18 missiles. The source of the shoulder launched Russian anti-aircraft missiles is Ivan Kharkov, a Russian oligarch and world class arms merchant.
Allon is in an Italian villa, happily restoring a masterpiece for the Vatican, when a building crisis causes his superior to recall him to help solve the murder of a Russian journalists. Silvia, takes his protagonists into the decadent capital of the new Russia, Moscow, and its wantabe Tsar, Putin.
MOSCOW RULES is a complex thriller, hard to put down--even for another cup of coffee. Tension builds as Allon unravels Kharkov's sinister plot. Silva takes the reader on a tour of Moscow that would never be approved by the Russian government. He also paints a picture of the new Russia that leaves no doubt about the Bear's ambitions, and that a new Cold Wars in coming.
