Toddlers can actually DO this stuff!

I appreciate this book because it's full of ideas that are actually for twos and threes! Most "toddler and preschool" activity books I've found are over a toddler's head, but not this one.

We love all the different ideas.....some are worth hours of play and some just 5 minutes, but the book is full of great ideas!

My 2 yr old has had so much fun with all the activities I've pulled out of this book. It's saved me on rainy days!

Most of the suggestions in this book were not useful to me. Many of them were totally obvious. First, quite a few were different versions of "make a box of toys for a rainy day", or different versions of "gather kitchen tools, tupperware, pots and pans". Second, a lot of the activities take a lot of time to prepare and then keep the kid entertain for just a couple of minutes. Third, some suggestions are just home-made versions of very cheap toys that I just rather buy than spend so much effort and make a mess at home preparing them. In this class you'll find home-made playdoh, bubbles, stacking cups, markers, puzzles, etc. Overall I found this book a waste of money and time. Not a single original idea that I could use.

GREAT, Fun Ideas

I love this book! I just pulled it out again because my 21-month-old daughter and I have gotten into a little bit of a rut. There's been a lot more TV time than I like. Going through here again to pick out some activities, I've noticed so many new things she wouldn't have enjoyed or understood when I bought this book several months ago. Things I dismissed at the time for this reason will now be perfect for her age and current interests. That's the best thing about "The Toddler's Busy Book." There is almost too much to do in there. There are simple ideas and more complex ones with some real planning involved. But since toddlers have a short attention span and are always challenging you to find fun and interesting new things, the vast resources in "The Toddler's Busy Book" will help keep activities fresh and exciting for your toddler (and you)!

Cute everyday ideas for Moms

As a fulltime nanny, this book was a good idea to purchase for new ideas for art, music, and waterplay. A lot of the ideas in the book are simple solutions for full-time mothers, so I have to disregard a big portion of the book. There are tons of different cute ideas though that I just can't use at the moment (For things like bedtime, cooking, etc) but I will hold onto for when I am a mother. I've been playing a lot of little games from this book with the toddler I work with everyday using different variations. Mainly, this book jumpstarted my own creativity, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has to live with a toddler 24/7.

Worth the $10.00 Investment

As some people have said in the 1-3 star reviews, many of the ideas in this book are no-brainers we could have come up with on our own. I cannot deny that fact, and yet I must say 'kudos!' to the authoress for writing the ideas down and earning an income for her brood as a result! That said, I loved the book. I checked it out at our library and my severe impulse to underline things and fold down pages caused me to realize that I must buy a copy. And as for being able to come up with the ideas on my own, I have three sons between the ages of 7 months and 4 years and simply don't have time to look around for creative ways to keep them all busy. Call me lazy, but I'd rather shell out $10 (or in my current state whip out my library card) and save time. The book is not only great for a quick pick me up for bored children (days and days of rain in the midwest, anyone?) it also has so many tidbits for ME, like gentle reminders that though stressful at times, being a mom is one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.
