Comment: This book makes me feel ashamed to a human - and it still goes on all over the world.

Summary: Brace Yourself
Comment: At the risk of sounding ignorant, this book opened my eyes to just how horrific the Holocust was.
'Night' made me think and ask questions. The way Mr. Wiesel re-tells his experience, I could picture
everything, but I also knew that wasn't the half of it. Even though this is a short read, at times I
found it diffcult to get through because my mind did not want to know anymore. However, I did finish
reading it, and I plan to read 'Night' with my teen daughters over the summer.

Summary: How can a just God allow unjust things to happen?
Comment: (OOOOOOOOPS!!! My review has been posted and to my embarrassment I realize that I have made a
MISTAKE. I wanted to give the book five stars instead of one. At this stage of editing I am unable
to change the incorrect rating. But since I can add to the main body of the text I wanted to at
least set the record straight. Sorry for the mistake.)

Elie Wiesel is a genius. He
makes you feel the horror of hatred. And yet he doesn't leave you in total despair as the book
ends.

All of us wonder how a just God can allow unjust things to happen on earth.
Wiesel doesn't offer simple "bumper sticker" answers. But he does get us thnking.
/>Another book I read this year, "Christmas Gifts, Christmas Voices" by John Allen similarly
explores the question of bad things happening to good people.

Both books are
challenging, and at times so gut-wrenching that they are difficult to read. But they both offer
valuable insights.

Summary: Intense and very meaningful.
Comment: Mr. Wiesel overcame so much for someone so young. I am amazed that he is still sane. It took great
courage to think on the horrors of the concentration camps and write down his memories so that
others will never forget the evil that human beings are capable of. Always remember, never forget.

Summary: Loved It! Quick Read.
Comment: While the story of this book is tragic, it is a must read for anyone over 16. I loved this book!
Reading Elie Wiesel's story helps you appreciate how inhumane people can become and how this same
cruelty exists in the world today. Only through educating ourselves about the holocaust can we hope
to prevent it from happening in the future.
