It's D.W.'s birthday and all she wants is Mary Moo Cow (purple with pink spots--not pink with purple spots!) But when Mary Moo Cow gets sick to her stomachs (cows have four, you know), D.W. thinks her party is ruined. But Arthur saves the day when he arrives--disguised as Mary Moo Cow!

We love this new Arthur series. We bought this as one of the books for our 5 year old daughter for Christmas and she loves it. Our children, a boy who is 10 and a girl who is 5 remind us so much of Arthur and D.W., so the Arthur books always appeal to me. Marc Brown does such a good job at placing real kids thoughts and feelings onto his characters! In this book D.W. is having a birthday party which is themed around her favorite, Mary Moo Cow. When the person who is supposed to wear the cow costume can't come, a certain special brother puts aside his pride to make her party fun!
Love the illustrations and message behind all Marc Brown books!
