Summary:
If you are a caring parent, this book will drive you crazy!
Comment:
This book is not exciting at all, and the "mystery" is not a mystery. I was really disappointed
with this book as a whole. However, it had a fatal flaw that you will recognize if you are a
parent.
Spoiler alert!
Alex Cross sent his former FBI "friend" mass
murderer to prison for life. This guy swore to get him and his family. He escapes of course. Now,
if you were "retired" Alex Cross, you would probably make sure your three kids and elderly
grandmother were in safe arms. Nope. Alex decided to get involved and leaves his family at home,
with out any protection, while he is chasing crazies who have vowed to kill and torture not only
him, but his family. Alex was more concerned about having sex with his partner (Yeah, there was
lots of sex. I am not opposed to sex if it has something to do with the plot, which in this case it
doesn't and comes off more as a cheesy romance) than his family or even his friend's life. At the
end of the book the crazy guy runs off, laughing at Alex, promising to eventually torture his
entire family, and next scene Alex is calming dropping his son off to college.
Wow,
does James Patterson not have kids? Or is Alex, his character, just a heartless idiot? You can
decide, that is if you want to read a really boring book. Check it out from the library if you have
to read it. You don't want this clanker on your bookshelf.

Double Cross
Comment:
Well, one has to have been rather familiar with good old Alex Cross to truly get into this story.
He's a psychiatrist/detective famous across the US for solving crimes. He lives in D.C. with his
mother and kids. (She takes care of them when he's away.) He has a girl friend named Bree, also a
detective. They're hotties. Ol' Alex and Bree have a hot potato on their hands when not one, but two
nasties go around "performing" with sadistic murders. But never fear, our hero(s) win out in the
end. A good, comfortable read. Enjoyable, but I do wish Patterson would get himself a better
publicity photo of himself.

Comment:
Although I would love to write a book with James Patterson, his are better than the ones
co-authored. This book made me hide from family and friends until I could finish it. James Patterson
is my favorite author, and I love Alex Cross and his family. I feel like I know them personally, and
I can't wait to hear more about them. That said, I think of all his thrillers, this one slightly
misses the mark.

Double Trouble
Comment:
As always we are confronted with some strange characters. But this time we get a double. One
currently in jail and well known by Alex and the other a equal in insanity. We are assured for a
strange and blood cooling ride as we read this novel, as all the others he has the ability to put us
in the minds of these maniacs. Just so that we feel they are real people. I highly recommend this
book and will look forward to the next.

Pfffffftttt...........!
Comment:
Pffffttt.....the sound of a bomb ticking incessantly and then not going off. This was the same old,
same old....but with a really, really lame ending. I love Alex Cross, but another new girl friend?
Can't this man find a good woman? I think he's been playing the field long enough. I'm sorry. I'm
getting tired of Alex getting all stirred up over someone only to lose them - over and over again -
and we don't know what happened to Bree - will she appear again when the villain, Kyle Craig,
returns? Return he will, because Alex didn't wrap him up the way we all hoped he would. Being
promised two psychopathic killers, I really expected two brought to justice. I miss being left with
an "aha" feeling, and some satisfaction with the way the story ends. I feel robbed this time -
robbed of the time I spent reading the book.
